General Information

A US Tourist Visa also known as a B-2 visa is issued to international visitors intending to visit America for business purposes, tourists, or any purposes that are recreational or medical but for a limited period.

As it is widely known, with a B-2 Tourist Visa, you are permitted to be in the US for a maximum of 6 months. The latter’s duration is contingent on the Immigration Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officer assessing the duration of stay at the port of entry.

First of all, you have to fill out the DS-160 form online, then, you need to pay the visa application fee, schedule an interview with the US Embassy or Consulate, and pass the interview with the necessary documents.

Eligibility

A valid passport, confirmation page of the DS-160, receipt of the visa fees, two passport-sized photographs, travel itinerary, evidence of ability to provide for oneself financially; and evidence that the applicant has strong ties to their home country.

Travel and Entry

A US Tourist Visa lets you travel only in the US and cannot be used for entering or traveling to another country. If you wish to travel to other countries you have to abide by the visa policies of those particular countries.
